Fashion illustration: Katie Rodgers

As I promised I will tell you about some outstanding fashion illustrators. Let's start with Katie Rodgers. She grew up in a small country town just outside of Atlanta, GA. Living in the country with three brothers, she would often escape into her own imaginative worlds. Her aunt gifted Katie her first professional set of watercolors before the age of 7, and needless to say, she fell head over heels in love with them. Fashion, whimsy, and nature have forever been lurking inside her mind and onto the blank pages of her watercolor blocks.

Katie currently resides in New York City.

She has been commissioned by the likes of Valentino, Swarovski, Clé de Peau, Kate Spade, Coach, Alicia Keys, Calypso St. Barths, Stuart Weitzman, Parker Pens, Lacoste, and Glamour Magazine among others.

I get inspired by so many different things and people. I also love watching people in the cities and get a sense of their personal style.

My process of illustrating is fairly simple. I use Winsor & Newtoon Watercolors, watercolor brushes,Micron Ink pen or Le Pens. I always stick to use the best watercolor block paper I can find - which is usually Aquarelle Arches (I use the smooth style).

I couldn’t survive without my printer, scanner, and most importantly my laptop.
